Income Requirements for Super Visa Insurance

For the Super Visa to be granted, your kid or grandchild’s salary must be above a certain threshold. This is referred to as the poverty line. The income of your child or grandchild’s spouse or common-law partner can also be counted against the Super Visa income criteria, in addition to your own income. The number of individuals living in your child’s or grandchild’s household will play a role in determining the required minimum income. The required minimum income is proportional to the size of your child’s or grandchildren immediate family.

• The applicant’s wife/husband or common-law partner
• The applicant’s children (under 18 years)
• The parent or grandparent and their common-law partner (if any)

A visitor record application is required if you hold a Super Visa and wish to prolong your stay in Canada. Because of this, you can extend your stay beyond the original visa’s validity.
